About the event

This retrospective exhibit follows the artistic journey of cartoonist, Alexis E. Fajardo. A Vestal High School alum, Lex began his comics career in the Southern Tier. From his first studio in downtown Binghamton, Fajardo drew his comic strip, Plato’s Republic and it was also there where the seeds for his graphic novel series, Kid Beowulf took root.

In 2003 Fajardo relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where he currently draws and writes his acclaimed graphic novel series, Kid Beowulf and works as Senior Editor for Peanuts at the Charles M. Schulz Studio in Santa Rosa, California.

This exhibit will trace Lex’s early work in comics to where it is today and highlight an art form that has captivated readers of all ages. Please join us for our Opening Reception on Saturday, June 24, at noon to meet the artist. Lex will give a presentation of his work and career in comics.  This will be followed by a comics class for kids at 1PM and a book signing at 2PM.

The comics class is ideal for children ages 7 and up (adults are welcome too!).
