About the event

Join the Vestal Museum in our first exhibition opening post pandemic, Storytelling Through the Arts: Local Artists’ Response to Objects in the Vestal Museum Archives. The exhibition opening will be on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 1PM-3PM. Town Historian Margaret Hadsell will speak promptly at 1PM with live music and refreshments to follow.

Local artists were invited into the Vestal Museum and observe still lives curated with objects with no particular significance found in our archives. From there, they were asked to think about the objects - whether that be in relation to the Vestal Museum, local history, or something as simple as the color and textures, and respond with an artistic practice that makes sense to them. The Vestal Museum aims to cultivate history in real time, by reaching into our archives and generating responses to experience side by side.
